Apparently there was an NBA game last night

Oh wow, I guess there was an actual game last night. This was also news to Golden State because they took a massive dump on the court. They showed one glimmer of life in the second quarter and cut the Cleveland led down to 8 going into the half. This was impressive because Cleveland had come out of the gates strong and put a 20 point lead in the books early in the first quarter. Steph and Klay were tremendously terrible in the first half, and for the entire game if you want to get picky. LeBron and Kyrie were playing like their playoff lives depended on it (it actually was).

You ready for a hot take? Of course you are. The Cavs are better without Kevin Love. Oh, everyone is saying that? Well put me in the crew with the rest of them. In his two games, they lost by 33 and 15. They finally get rid of him and they win by 30. Coincidence? I think not! He has been a complete downer since going to the Cavs. His PPG is down by 3.0 and his RPG is down by 2.4. He is like Bosh in Miami. Maybe it's the curse of being a post player with LeBron or maybe everyone was right and he truly was just a big fish in a little pond while in Minnesota.

Apologies for the tardiness on this article. I have been trying to adult today and fully dreaded talking about these two trashy teams. Fuhrer Bird would have crushed them both by this point and I'm hyped for next season. GO PACERS!

New and Improved Lottery

As the playoffs draw to a close, I'm no longer a fan of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Those days are behind me. I have a new fearless leader and he doesn't sell stupid wall posters called Fatheads.

Every single day since I put my NBA fandom up for grabs, I've received calls from GMs across the country. Each one thinks they have something to offer that's better than the rest, but I had to shut out all of the noise and make the best decision for me and my family. I have enjoyed the recruiting process, but there can only be one winner and I had to break some hearts.

That being said, I am now a fan of.....

Congratulations Pacers!!!

You were the winner and I'm #blessed to be joining you on our path to righteousness in the coming years. Fuhrer Bird has finally found us the right man to be our coach and guide us to basketball glory. I'm glad to be a part of the organization and we're coming for you losers in 2016-2017. Get your hard hats on and get ready for war.

Mini Steven Adams Wake Up

Good morning people! I hope you are enjoying this Hump Day. We're halfway home to a long weekend. Here's what you missed yesterday.

OKC Annihilates Golden State in Game 4

If you thought that Game 3 was bad, Game 4 was a nightmare for Steph and Co. Led by Russell Westbrook, the Thunder have pushed the Warriors to the brink of elimination. Fun Fact: When a team takes a 3-1 lead in the Conferemce Finals, that team has advance 37 times out of 39. How do you like your odds, Draymond? That -30 looks good on your stat sheet.

Russell Westbrook was unstoppable last night. Westbrook had another triple double with 36 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. Steph Curry was held to 19 points, and wasn't a factor. OKC was the more physical team, as they have been all series. They out rebounded the Warriors to a tune of 68-49. Game 5 is tomorrow night at Golden State. The Thunder have a shot to send the Champs packing, but I think this series will go to six.

Hit Streak Alert

Jackie Bradley Jr hit safely for his 28th game in a row. Teammate Xander Bogaerts is also on a 17-game streak. Both will look to add on tonight when They take on the Rockies.

Super Bowls Awarded

Yesterday, the NFL announced that Atlanta, Miami, and LA would host Super Bowls in that order beginning in 2019. Two of those cities will have new stadiums. In my opinion, football is a cold weather sport. When they played it in New York, no one had any idea how the game would fair. The unknown weather and playing conditions are exciting. Send the Super Bowl to Chicago or Green Bay in February before I'm impressed.

A lot going on today. It's the deadline for returning to college instead of staying in the draft. Also, we have a pivotal Game 5 tonight in Cleveland. Check back throughout the day for updates.

DeMar DeRozan/Kyle Lowry's Bromance Wake Up

Good Morning! It's a beautiful sunny morning here, and we're going to look at what happened while you were asleep.

Toronto tied up their series with Cleveland last night as the Raptors took Game 4 105-99. The combo of Lowry and DeRozan, pictured above, continued to carry the weight of their country as the two combined for 67 points last night. Although the Cavs controlled nearly every statistical category, they forgot that the score was the most important one. LeBron James went for 29 points and 9 rebounds while his faithful sidekick Kyrie Irving chipped in 26. With the series being tied, the question now is who win win a road game. I think that for Torontp to win the series, Game 5 tomorrow night in Cleveland is a must win. The winner of that game will take the series, in my opinion.

Let's take a look at what happened on the diamond last night. Baseball is possibly my favorite sport, but we don't talk near as much about it as we should. Last night, we were treated to a few good pitching performances. Our beloved Reds were on the Left Coast last night to pay a visit to the Dodgers. When you see Clayton Kershaw on the lineup card, you can be safe saying that one run will win the game. Last night saw that. Not Kershaw and Reds' starter Brandon Finnegan turned in complete games. Finnegan's line was 8 innings, 5 hits, and one earned in the losing effort. It was by far the rookie's best start. Kershaw, on the other hand, threw 9 scoreless innings while allowing three base runners and striking out 7. Hard one to lose, but if you like pitching, this was a beautiful sight.

Elsewhere around baseball, Johnny Cueto threw a complete game shutout. Cueto improved to 7-1 on the season while blanking the Padres. No walks and only two hits allowed, he struck out 6 en route to a 1-0 win.

Breathe a Sigh of Relief, Scumbag

Looking forward to tonight, we have Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals in Oklahoma City. As Corbeech noted yesterday, Draymond Green will be able to play for whatever reason. Punishment for his nut kick heard 'round the world wasn't enough to keep this prick off the court. $25,000 and an upgrade to a flagrant two is about as horribly wrong of a decision that could be made. However, Green now has three flagrant points meaning one more and he will automatically be suspended. Who has the betting odds on whether he will get one tonight? Take the no.

Game 4 is at 9:00 tonight. If Karma is real, OKC will roll the Warriors again, and Draymond Green will get hit by an airplane.

That's all that I have. Check back later for more news and updates.

Haha the NBA is a joke!

This made me chuckle. Way to be consistent with the punishments boys. Thank the lord you got the terror that is Dahntay Jones aka the Cavs last man off the bench suspended for his below the belt. It's good to see that the NBA is showing the players who is in charge and not accepting these low blows from anyone. Oh, wait. Apparently that's not the case if you're a star player.

Glad to know the NBA is taking Draymond seriously. With this massive $25,000 fine I'm sure that he won't do this again. Much like Doug telling Shooter about Happy getting suspended, I am envisioning Adam Silver trying to justify only fining Draymond rather than suspending him because "the ratings are the highest they've ever been." I'm laying the challenge down to OKC, someone had better dropkick Draymond in the sack or else they look weak. We'll be watching, don't let us down.

Steven Adams' Nuts Memorial Wake Up

YIKES!

Hopefully you are having a better morning than Mr Adams is. Last night, blows were dealt. The Thunder handed Golden State another defeat, and Draymond Green dealt a low blow as seen in the picture above. OKC won Game 3 133-105 while absolutely crushing the Warriors. Media "experts" claiming the Thunder might not even win a game are still trying to dislodge their feet from their mouths while OKC is halfway to the NBA Finals. Should the NBA suspend Green, it will just make things more difficult for the defending champs. This is the second time that Green and Adams have been tangled up. Head Coach Steve Kerr and Green both claim that it's normal basketball moves. Adams sees it differently though quoted after the game, "It's happened before, mate. He's pretty accurate, that guy". Adams seems like he would be a fun dude to hang out with. He must be a writer's perfect interview. Sit on some ice pal, Game 4 is tomorrow at 9:00.

On the Eastern side, Toronto hosts Cleveland tonight looking to tie the series. After a 15-point win on Saturday, the Raptors have already done what no other playoff team could do: beat the Cavs. Now that they have broke through, it wouldn't surprise me if they don't even the series tonight in Toronto. Tip is at 8:30 in the frozen north.

Coming up this week, we'll go over final NBA Draft decisions as the deadline is only a couple of days away. We'll also look at recruiting and how it is ruining college offseasons. Stay tuned!

Exaggerator's Sunday Morning Wakeup

Exaggerator Ends Hope for Triple Crown

Good Morning people! Hope that your weekend is going better than Nyquist's. Let's take a look at what happened yesterday and what we can look forward to today.

Exaggerator finally caught him. He beat Nyquist for the fist time in his five races. The defeat ends not only the hopes for a Triple Crown, but it is also Nyquist's first defeat. The track, as you can see in the picture, was very sloppy. The conditions favored Exaggerator, who had won three times on such tracks. Exaggerator is the first Preakness winner to win after finishing runner up in the Kentucky Derby since 1993 (Prairie Bayou). The Belmont Stakes will be on June 11th, if anyone still cares. People tend to forget about horse racing once the Triple Crown is out of the way.

Toronto Knocks Off Cleveland in Game 3

There was plenty of controversy, but Toronto welcomed Cleveland north of the border to a tune of 99-84. The loss for the Cavs makes the first defeat they have suffered in the post season. Their last loss? The Detroit Pistons on April 13th in the regular season finale. Dwayne Casey was very critical of the officials after the game, and he should have been. Looking at the stats, and highlights, you can't hardly blame him. Sure, the NBA officials are very biased towards certain players, but at this point, I'm beginning to believe that it extends to certain teams. Nonetheless, Toronto has cut the series lead into and look to tie it up tomorrow in Game 4.

Looking to tonight, the Western Conference Finals moves to Oklahoma City. After a surprise Game 1 win, OKC will come home with the series tied looking to take an advantage. Tip is at 8 PM.

Sunday Night Baseball should be a good one tonight. Kyle Hendricks faces off against Madison Bumgarner in the Bay Area as two division leading teams face off. The Cubs own the best record in baseball, while the Giants own the second best in the National League. First pitch is at 8:00.

That is all that I have today. Check back later. Someone might have something else to say. Until then, later!

Friday Morning Wake Up Call

Good Friday morning! We have made it through another week, nearly, and it's almost time for the weekend. Before we get ahead of ourselves, we need to go over what happened last night and see what's on tap today. Let's jump in.

San Jose Advances to Western Conference Finals

The Sharks held a televised practice last night when there was supposed to be a game. If any one sees Nashville's starting five, let them know that they are now on vacation. Pekka Rinne stopped 21 shots, but it was the five that got by him that were the difference. San Jose now advanced to their first Western Conference Finals since 2011 when they take on St Louis in Game 1 on Sunday.

OKC Closes Out Spurs

Oklahoma City defeated San Antonio 113-99 to advance last night in the NBA Playoffs. A late push by the Spurs kept the score closer than it really was. The Thunder would not be denied this time. Trying to avoid sending the series back to San Antonio, they led after three quarters 91-65. In what might have been Tim Duncan's last game, he turned in one of his better performances of the playoffs scoring 19 points. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 65. The Thunder will meet up at Golden State for Game 1 on Monday.

Looking forward to today, it will be a light schedule. Toronto has a chance to knock out Miami when the two teams meet in South Beach tonight for Game 6. In something we haven't touched on, The Players Championship second round is currently underway. Jason Day was the leader after the first round after a -9 round. He will tee off at 1:58 today and currently leads by two strokes.

That's about all I have for now. Be sure to check back through the the day for breaking stories and updates.

Golden State Ruined the NBA

Hear me out on this one. Yes, Golden State plays the fun brand of basketball that we all loved as kids where we could line up and jack 3s all day long. Does that make me jealous? Slightly. It reminds me of a time back in elementary school when my team had 4 shooters who lived behind the line and an overgrown 7th grader who lacked coordination. We were essentially the Dwight Howard teams in Orlando. We had strong performances and played the fun style of basketball. Did we win the title? Nah bro. We were just out there shooting 3s and having fun.

How does this relate to Golden State? Funny you should ask that. You aren't supposed to be able to have that much fun and dominate like they are. Have all of these years watching the boring Spurs dominate taught them nothing?! I want an investigation into the Warriors because something should be illegal out of this. These guys are jacking shots up that I don't even throw up in games of 21. It's madness!!

LeBron is my boy, but I don't see him even being able to mess with these Warriors barring a Steph injury. Coming off back to back MVPs, it seems like an injury is the only thing that could keep Steph from having his way with the league for years. The only other option would be a massive scandal that derailed him and the Warriors. I'm not recommending that you start a rumor about Steph, but I'm not going to stop you if you make that decision. Feel free to send all hot tips to smithbrossports@gmail.com.

Tuesday Morning Wake Up

Welcome Back, Steph!

Good Tuesday morning to all. Quick turnaround after the overtime, but let's get ready for another day!

Steph Curry returned last night, in case you didn't hear. After not playing in the team's last four games, Curry looked fresh and in rhythm. Leading all scorers with 40, he also set a league-record with 17 (17!!) points in the overtime period. Golden State survived 132-125 on the road in Portland last night to take a 3-1 series lead as they head back home. Game 5 is Wednesday night.

Stars, Preds Force Game 7

Two teams went into the night facing dire circumstances. Facing 3-2 series deficits, both Nashville and Dallas fought off elimination to force winner-take-all Game 7s.

Dallas led 3-0 before St Louis would charge back to make it interesting. The Blues would score two goals before Dallas held on to win 3-2. Game 7 is in Dallas on Wednesday night.

Nashville was quite the opposite. San Jose scored twice in the opening period to jump out to a commanding lead. After Nashville broke the goose egg on the scoreboard, momentum violently swing into their favor. They would tie the game early in the second period before falling behind 3-2 in the third. Just as it seemed like all was lost, Colin Wilson would tie the game two minutes after San Jose had taken their last lead. Behind a rowdy home crowd, the Predators would score the winning goal just two minutes into overtime. Game 7 is in San Jose on Thursday where Nashville hasn't won a playoff game yet.

Oklahoma City at San Antonio
Game 5
Series tied at 2-2

The only real action going on tonight is a pivotal Game 5 in the Western Conference to see who will take on Golden State. San Antonio and the Old Guard have only last two games at home all season including the playoffs. After being trounced in Game 4, the Spurs will look to get one win closer to the Conference Finals tonight when they defend their home court. Tip is at 8:00 on TNT.

That's all for now. Be sure to check back throughout the day for updates and breaking news. Thanks for reading!
